Usually representing spirits, ancestors or the primordial couple, these figures were placed in shrines and treated with great respect. Through a wide range of style, scale, belief and function the couples depicted share a timeless, serene equality necessary to the continuity of their societies.

From the Architects
The project of the School of Laayoune Technology is part of the policy of decentralization of educational centers in different regions of Morocco and responds to a request from local graduates. The program is built around lessons spaces (classrooms, TP, amphitheater), documentation, administrative, educational and services like workshops and staff accommodation.
The implantation site, away from the city, generated a desire to recreate urbanity through an organization around an axial scheme, and thus providing an overall reading, clear, and a diversity of environments.
The various buildings are fragmented to allow for maximum ventilation and natural lighting and are connected by a set of external paths, squares, covered parking spaces, gardens minerals to accentuate precisely this notion of urbanity.
The architectural language is meant solid, geometric and plays with the contrast-ocher exterior and interior light. Various sun protection devices are used: shading, double skin, blankets etc.
The materials used are minimized to accentuate abstraction and coherence of the whole while meeting the constraints of sustainability and maintenance.
